Kids Activites

As most of you know, I like to craft. Lucky for me, so do Charlie and Greta. As with any holiday I was pretty excited to get our craft on, so me made a few crafts while I was there. First up, Turkey name place cards.

E wasn't into making any more turkey crafts so she colored with us. She was so cute just doing her own thing.

Charlie and Greta were superstars. They were awesome listeners and they did a really good job making the turkeys. We had to make 14 of them.

They also pose for pictures really well. Kids after my own heart.

Aren't those just darling?!

Thanksgiving morning we made a thankful tree. Charlie Greta and I filled it up.

I'm grateful for moments and smiles like these.

I was rather excited to be done with turkeys. Not that they aren't super cute but I am stoked to begin Christmas crafts. First up, paper snowflakes!!!!

Once again E didn't want to make a snowflake so she sat with us, ate an orange and ooo'd and ahhhh'd over  our creations.

Everyone got pretty into it. Pa, Grammy, and Jakob all made a few too!

The best part is seeing what it will end up looking like.

Our final products. Do you see the Batman and Spiderman snowflakes?

For our final day we mad hand print snowmen and finger print Christmas trees.

Others colored. E was so excited to have all these different craft supplies to play with.

Our Snowmen. Mine (top), Greta (bottom left), and Charlie's (bottom right). Greta and Charlie made theirs look like Margot, Georgie, Greta and Charlie. Mine is our little family. These were a lot of fun, complete with sparkles.

Then Greta and I rocked out some Christmas trees.

Oh, let's not forget the Play Doh. E was in heaven. We had a blast making all of our crafts!! :)

Kids Activites

This week was a bit crazy. This kids got sick and so they stayed home from church, we had the Elders over twice, Jakob flew to Little Rock for an interview over night and Mom Tobler arrived on the 21st. We were in full get-ready-for-Grammy-and-to-travel-to-North-Carolina mode but that didn't stop us from having fun.

Monday:
I asked E if she wanted to make hand print turkey's. She said no thank you so I decided I would make one. Once she saw me making mine, she had to have a turn painting her hand. She was so cute!!

I just love the paint on her face. A true artist.

Our final product. Gobble Gobble.

Tuesday:
I read the following meme's on Facebook and I had to share. This is pretty much how our day went.

This one especially relates to Duke. So instead of cleaning we did this...

Nothing quite like emptying all of the toys out of the toy box and playing hide and seek. :)

Wednesday:
E and I make a footprint turkey. She decided that she didn't want to make the center footprint so I just used my hand to make it. He turned out pretty cute regardless.

Thursday:
E has been making me cakes all week for my birthday out of play doh. She gets them all pretty, adds some frosting, sticks a candle in them, insists that I wear a birthday hat, and then sings me happy birthday but she gets to blow out the candle. It is so cute and if a truly ate as many cakes as she has made for me, I would be the size of a house!

Friday:
Both Grammy and Daddy returned home and we did a lot of playing. E's new favorite game to play with Grammy is "Hide and Seek Princess" where Grammy hides her pegs princesses around the house. So glad that Mom and Jakob and back!! So looking forward to going to North Carolina for Thanksgiving!!

Turkey's With Leaves & More Poppies

I decided to do a spin off of the owls that we made for Halloween and make turkey's the leaves are almost all finished changing colors but there are still a few beautiful trees on our street. E and I had to walk a ways to gather up these beauties but it was so worth it.

I liked the owls better but these turned out really well. They are a wonderful way to use up scrap paper!

Every time I see a red maple leaf it makes me ache for Canada. I love my country very much!

Tuesday:
It being Remembrance Day we decided to do another poppy craft. These were a piece of cake to make.
Thursday:
Then we made another kind of turkey. E was pretty excited about painting!

We were pretty impatient waiting for the paint to dry so we stuck it over the heat register.

Sometimes it "accidentally" flew away. :)

E helped me match all the leaves by size, shape and color. Then we hot glued them on. I think this is my favorite craft o far!

These leaves were brilliant. You couldn't buy leaves prettier than this!

I am loving fall in Nashville. It is breath taking!

Kids Activites

This week was full of festive crafts and lots of cuddles. Daddy had the car all week due to the rain and interviews. Nothing like showing up to an interview wet, smelling like exhaust, and rocking helmet hair. So due to the lack of transportation we stayed indoors.

Monday:
We had an epic game of hide and seek. E is getting really good at hiding and she usually stays pretty quiet while I look for her.

Manfred saw his sister hiding and he wanted to have a turn too. He wasn't as discrete.

 Gosh this boy is cute!!

Tuesday:
We made some foot/ hand print pictures to hang on the wall. E stuck on the eyes all by herself and made the little ghost mouths with her fingerprint.

Duke really needed to put two spiders on his but we were lucky to get one as nice as this with little flailing fingers. ;) These are hanging on the wall now and I {love} them!

 Wednesday:
We tried our hand at finger painting again. E wasn't all that trilled with wearing an apron. She said it was too "iff" (stiff.) Gotta love the home depot aprons :). She did really well with the finger painting this time however.

It turned into a witch with her little hand prints for hair. This was a great craft since there were so many different things to do (paint, trace, cut, tape and glue.)

Thursday:
We took another break from crafts. (E played with play doh for nap time, she LOVES play doh!) Instead of a crafts we made a fort. It started out small and then turned into a fort castle that included the kitchen table. They had a blast with their blankets, pillows and flashlights. I think I need to get E a little lantern.

Friday:
E and I went for a walk to gather leaves. We had a lot of fun finding different shapes and colors and putting them is E's baggie. When we got home we made little owls. This was a great craft to use up some of my scrap booking scraps. E had a great time picking out the colors and taping everything together.

 E's first baby owl.

 E's second Mama owl.

Then half way through this owl she said she was all done so she says this is Mama's owl. He's chubby ;). I adore these little owls and they were so much fun to make!!

That's it for this week can you believe that Halloween is just a couple of weeks away?!?! I think next week we will be buying Pumpkins!
