Things that Go Quiet Book - Build a Car!

While this page isn't difficult at all... it is seriously time consuming! There is a lot of cutting and sewing involved but it is so worth it. This is another one of my son's favorite pages. While I have a lot of cars on this page I have included even more in the pattern! Once I started I just couldn't stop!

This is also the only page that I did any sort of embroidery. I wanted to steer clear from embroidery as much as possible because while it is really easy to do, I just feel like it intimidates people. This page would be just as cute without the embroidery too, but I felt that it helped that page make a bit more sense.

Here are a few of my favorite car combos. The taxi, which was a mental exercise to get it to work. But I am so pleased with how it turned out!

Fire truck!
And the police car. I love how many combinations the my son can make! I actually find myself playing with this page too mixing and matching!

This pattern for this page is available for purchase via my Etsy shop and as always thank you so much for your support and interest in my work!

Things that Go Quiet Book - Boats

I am so beyond excited to introduce my latest quiet book. This bad boy has hands down been my quickest quiet book to date. My son is three and currently into all things cars, planes, and trains. He loves all things that go and since my previous books have primarily been for my daughter, I wanted to make him something special just for him!

My first page is boats. The theme for this book was to keep. it. simple. I didn't want to ton of parts or pieces. I wanted the back ground to be clean, but still have some excitement while not being overwhelming to assemble.

These little boats were a blast to make! To be honest the pirate ship is hands down my favorite but it's all about the buttons. I have a fairly extensive stash and I had all of my buttons on hand but buttons are a key element in this book!

I also love the different colors in the water. In my church quiet book I did a fishing page where I made the water out of felt. While that was super simple to work with and really quick, after the years there has been some wear and tear on the felt whee it has pilled or stretched out. I didn't want that to be an issue this time around and I LOVE how the cotton looks and feels and it will hold up to little hands!

I felt that this page itself needed a touch of texture and color other than blue. I love the sun and the ribbon and how it gives that little extra pop!

Things that Go Quiet Book - Fire Truck

This is hands down my favorite page in the book, or quite possibly any of my books! While this page is a big more intense to make, it is SO worth it! I was so beyond excited while I was drafting this pattern up that I just couldn't go to sleep until it had been made in it's entirety.

Pull down on the window tab and there are windows....

Pull up.. FIRE!!!!! How cool is that?!

The window and fire are behind plastic windows so that they won't snag or get ruined.

The fire truck has some super fun features as well!

Unsnap the hose...

Put out the fire!!

Pull up the ladder to reach the house! I seriously just can't get enough of this page! Every time I take this book out for my son to play with THIS this is the page he turns too first! So much fun!

Things that Go Quiet Book - Dump Truck

My son's first birthday was construction themed, so I just HAD to have a dump truck!

I love the colors, the different layers of dirt in the background (which are totally optional), and the big wheels!

The back bucket dumps which I think is SUPER fun!

And you can take out the dirt. I have thought about making some rocks to go in there too. I think that would be fun! This was such a fun make to design. Made me miss my little one year old boy! How time flies!

Things that Go Quiet Books - Train

I couldn't love this little train more! He is simple, clean, and a super quick page to put together!

My little man is ALL about trains right now! I really wanted to have some learning elements to this book as well, but in a subtle way. The numbered cars are removable and he loves lining them up in order!

While there was a bit of cutting involved the railway was super quick and easy to stitch up! I love when things look complex but they are really super simple! Like I said, simple was the name of the game with this book!

My favorite part of this page though is the steam engine. I just think that it looks so sharp!

Things that Go Quiet Book - Airplane

This page was stitched up in no time flat! I love simple pages like that, especially after a big one like the fire truck!

On this page the propeller spins.

I have seen a lot of pages on Etsy similar to this but I really wanted to do something a bit different so I decided to do a biplane!

And once again let me draw your attention to the button because while they may be small, they really do make all the difference by adding just a tiny bit of something.

Things that Go Quiet Book - Tractor

Who doesn't love a little John Deer? I nanny a little girl and her Dad works for John Deer so we have a special place for them in our hearts. Another super simple page to put together!

One of my favorite features is the plastic windows. I really didn't want to use blue felt, a leaving them blank just felt unfinished so for the windows throughout the book, I used light weight clear plastic. A little goes a long way and I really think it gives the vehicles a little something something.

Originally I had thought that this would be great for taking the wheels on and off but while buttons are still a bit tricky for my little man he really likes to just spin the wheels. While either option works BIG buttons are a must for this page!

Princess Quiet Book - Ariel Under the Sea

Ariel is one of my favorite princesses, it was one of the first movies I ever saw (at 3 weeks old) and I love mermaids and all of the pretty sea creatures. So I decided to go with a match the shapes theme and man, it was so much fun!

I am so in love with all of the bright colors and different textures and activities on this page. The button rocks, the lift-a-flap cave...

... all of the removable animals and the treasure chest full of treasures.

Flouder is inside of the cave. I couldn't be happier with how he turned out!
 Sea turtles are my favorite!

The treasure cheat with all of the goodies. I love the ric-rac seaweed and how it add a little something extra.

I got the mini dinglehopper and knife in the doll house section of Jo-Ann. They fit just perfectly.

The little camera I had just lying around. Hopefully I will find a Snarfblat to add to the chest.

The octopus doesn't come off of the page but he really adds a lot of character!

Like I said this was a super fun page to design and make! If you are interested my pattern for the entire two page spread is for sale in my Etsy shop. Click here to be directed to my listing!
